WinRAR
has become a great way to share files on internet. it is a powerful
tool also which allow you to create
and handle archive files. It consistently makes smaller archives,
saves disk space and transmission costs. To protect important files
from unauthorized access user create password-protected RAR archives.
Some times you just want that selected group (like family members,
friends etc) of peoples can access your file, in that case
password-protected RAR file will be very helpful. Although there are
multiple ways to limit access to these RAR files, but the built-in
password protection feature is generally considered as the best
option. If RAR file contains confidential and important data then it
advisable that always protect it with password.
Follow written
steps to create RAR files and create password:-
- Open WinRAR>click on Wizard >Select “Create a new archive”.
- Then click on “Next”.
- Now select the which you need to be added to the archive and then press “OK”. Provide the desired name to the Archive.
- Again click on “Next”.
- Now, Its the most important step to set the password. Here you have to click on the “Set password “ option.
- So, Here you can set the password in two ways :-
- Set password will be in asterisks :- Here you cannot see the set password, hence you will need to enter it twice for confirmation. Just enter the password you want to set.
- Set password can be seen :- Here it needs to be entered once. Tick mark on “Show password”. Just enter the password you want to set only once.
- Click on “Ok” this will lead you to the following window.
- Click on “Finish”. Your password protected RAR Archive will be created in your Desktop.
- Type I- RAR Archive will open. It will show you an asterisk just beside the files indicating that it will need password to extract the files.
Always
try to create strong password which you can easily remember because
if you loss password then RAR file will become inaccessible for you.

software to regain access of your valuable file.
