Have
you ever lost or forget your Windows Password? If yes, then no need
to worry there are several methods to recover or reset password. I'll
let you know in detail about the facts and solutions to recover
Windows password in quick time later in this article.
Note:
Always
remember that at the time of windows installation it automatically
creates an “Administrator” account that sets its password to
blank.
Methods
to Recover Password: There
are plenty of password recovery methods available but to describe
all, is not possible in one-shot. Here, I will try to describe you
the best ones:
Method
1: Easiest method ever…
Start
the system and when you see Windows Welcome screen or Login screen,
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys twice that will show you the Login box.
Now,
here you type “Administrator” in place of Username and leave the
Password option blank. Then you need to press Enter.
You
will be able to log into Windows.
From
here you get an opportunity to reset your account password go to -
Start> Control Panel > User Accounts.
Method
2: Reset
password with Password Reset Disk,
If that is already created before then follow the given steps:-
In
the Windows XP logon screen, click the user name that you want to
use. Then type
your password in that appeared box. Either Press ENTER or click on
the right-arrow button. You will receive the following error
message:
Click
you
can use your
password reset disk.
The Password Reset Wizard starts which allows you to create a new
password for your user account.
Click
on Next.
Then, Insert the password reset disk into the drive and then again
click on Next.
Type
a new password in Type
a new password
box and again retype
the same password in Confirm
Password box.
In
the Type a new
password hint box,
type a hint to remind you of your password if you forget the new
one.
Click
Next >
Click Finish.
The Password Reset Wizard finished and you return to the Windows XP
logon screen
Important
Note: -
The password reset disk is
automatically get updated with the new password information. You
don’t need to create a new password reset disk.
Method 3: Try
to Reset password from another administrator account
If
you are not able to log on to Windows by using a particular user
account, but simultaneously you are able to log on to another account
that has administrative credentials, Then follow these steps:-
Log on to
Windows by using an administrator account that has a password that
you remember but here you need to start with WinXp in safe mode.
Click on “Start”
option,
and then again click on “Run”
option.
Then, In the
open box, type “control
userpasswords2″, and
then click OK.
Click the user
account that you forgot
the password for, and then click Reset
Password.
Type a new
password in both the new
password and the Confirm new password boxes, and then click OK.
Method 4: TRY
to use command prompt to reset Windows password
Here
you need to Log in with any valid account.
Bring up
the command prompt just do the followings:-
Type: net user
You get a list of
accounts
Type: net user
Administrator *
Type: net
user (any account on that list) *
It will prompts
for a password. Enter one, then enter it again when prompted to
confirm.
Now
can try to log on as ‘Administrator’ with your new password
Important
Note:
- This
method possibly not works for
user accounts which have limited accessibility
Method 5: Use
third party Software for Windows password recovery
As,
there are lots of Windows Password Recovery Tools that can be use to
recover or reset the existing windows password for free or paid. Of
course paid software having more advantages over free tools because
it’s secure and guarantees you 100% password recovery rate.

We
cannot neglect the fact that use of password recovery software tool
is much better and easier option than any other manual method to
recover lost password those are more time consuming and there is no
sureity of recovery.
