ZIP
file format is basically used to compress particular data. It may
contain more than one file or folder. File extensions used for zip
files are ".zip" or ".ZIP". There are two
meanings of ZIP; first one stands for a kind of floppy drive, having
capacity of about 100MB in ZIP disk, another meant for the computer
file compress algorithm. Phil Katz invented ZIP in January 1989. ZIP
was previously known as Deflate.
